Management Team
Steve Van
President & CEO
Steve Van is President and CEO of Prism Hotels and Resorts. He founded Prism in 1983. Prism manages all major brands including Marriott, Hilton, Doubletree, Westin, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Radisson and Preferred Hotels and Resorts. Mr. Van was Hilton Doubletree Developer of the Year and serves on the Doubletree Owner’s Advisory Council.
REMIC Hotel Management, a division of Prism, is an industry leader in turning around distressed hotels for lenders and CMBS special servicers. REMIC to date has completed 115 distressed hotel assignments.
Mr. Van is a lifelong resident of Dallas and a member of the State Bar of Texas. He is married to Phyllis Van. They have five children and four grandchildren: Colby, Carson, Katherine and Clayton.
DAVID MARTIN
Chief Operating Officer
David is the Chief Operating Officer for Prism Hotels and Resorts. Based out of Dallas office, he is responsible for the overall operations of the managed and asset managed hotels with a focus on the development of programs aimed at enhancing market share, productivity and revenue growth.
David is a 26 year hospitality veteran who spent the last 12 years in senior level positions including Wyndham Worldwide as Senior Vice President, Operations, overseeing the managed and franchise operations; and with Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group, as Vice President overseeing both the East and West Coast operations during his tenure. With extensive operational experience, David spent over 14 years as General Manager for several West Coast management companies such as Red Lion, Hotel System International and Bayview Hotels. He achieved his Certified Hotel Administrators certification in 1984.
Martin was the past president and a board member of the San Francisco Hotel Council.
Al Whitehouse
Chief Investment Officer
Al has been responsible for Prism development efforts focused on acquisitions and new construction since 2005. Al's hospitality experience includes six years with Bristol Hotels & Resorts in a variety of capacities including General Manager and Guest Services Manager. He managed hotel takeovers and repositioning in Atlanta, before transferring to Dallas to manage Bristol's two DFW Airport properties. Al holds a BS in Hotel Administration from Cornell University.
John Bailey
Chief Financial Officer
John began his hospitality career in 1989 with Bristol Hotels & Resorts, where he was Vice President and Corporate Controller at the time the company was sold to InterContinental Hotels Group in April 2000. He later served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of HQ Global Workplaces.
In 2001, John joined ClubCorp as Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer, and was a member of the Executive Committee. John is a graduate of Texas Tech University and holds a Bachelors Degree of Business Administration in Accounting and is a CPA.
Greg Hooper
Vice President of Hotel Finance
Greg began his career in hospitality with Marriott Corporation in Houston Texas in 1978. Subsequently he has been intricately involved in financial operations working at other major hotels companies such as Mitchell Energy and Development Corporation, Hyatt Corporation, Destination Hotels, Benchmark Hospitality and Gemstone Hospitality.
Greg also worked as a VP of Operations for Hemmeter Corporation overseeing a portfolio of hotels in the Hawaiian Islands. He earned his BA in Finance/Accounting from University of South Florida. He and his wife Kathy relocated to Dallas from the Park City, Utah area.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT TEAM
Kyle Green
Senior Vice President, Investments
Kyle is responsible for corporate finance, the company consortia purchasing program, license administration, property insurance, and risk management. Kyle has seven years experience in accounting and finance, five of those with the team at Prism Hotels & Resorts.
Kevin Gallagher
Senior Vice President, Business Development
Kevin is Senior Vice President of Business Development for Prism Hotels & Resorts. Based out of the Dallas Office, he is involved in all aspects of development opportunities for Prism including acquisitions, management contracts and joint ventures. Additionally, Kevin has overseen the CMBS Lender and Special Servicer relationships for the past seven years and is actively involved in the CMSA.
Prior to being named Senior Vice President of Business Development, Kevin held positions of both Regional Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Sales with Prism Hotels & Resorts. Kevin's hospitality background includes 13 years with Bristol Hotels & Resorts in numerous capacities, including General Manager and Director of Operations of hotels ranging from 200-500 rooms in Atlanta, GA and Raleigh, NC.
Kevin has a BA in Music from the University of North Texas and resides in Dallas with his wife and two children.

KIM SOTO
Vice President, Human Resources
Kim Soto has over 18 years of experience in Human Resource Management and Training, most spent in the hospitality industry at both the corporate and property level. Prior to joining Prism, she served in Area HR roles for both The Procaccianti Group and InterContinental Hotels Group. She also worked for Bristol Hotels and Resorts for several years where she held the positions of Corporate Training Manager and property HR Director at various Dallas area hotels. Kim has extensive experience in the areas of recruiting and international internship programs, employee relations, management training, compliance, and acquisition support.
She studied violin at The University of Michigan where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Music History/Musicology and achieved a second major in Communication.
ACCOUNTING
LOIS MAHONEY
Senior Director of Finance
Lois’ experience encompasses over 20 years in hospitality accounting and finance management. During her eleven year tenure at Wyndham International, Lois gained experience as a Staff Accountant, Supervising Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, and Financial Reporting Manager. She later went on to serve as the Accounting Manager and, most recently, the Director of Finance at Aimbridge Hospitality, where she managed accounting and reporting for 40 hotels.
Lois is a CPA and holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting from Corpus Christi State University.

DAVID BREEDING
Vice President, Design & Construction
Prior to joining Prism, David was Vice President of Construction with Remington Hotels and Resorts overseeing the design and construction of a beach resort in North Florida; a Vice President / Sr. Project Manager with WCI Communities Inc., where he oversaw the design and construction of several condominiums in the Panhandle of Northern Florida. David was also the Vice President of Design and Construction with Gaylord Hotels during the design and construction of the Gaylord Texan. David began his career as an architect where he practiced architecture, in Texas for 10 years, in retail and hospitality design before joining Gaylord Hotels. He has been married to his wife, Vickie, for 23 years and they reside in Frisco, Texas with their three children- Jeffrey, Taylor, and Madison.

REGIONAL OPERATIONS
JIM WHEELER
Regional Vice President of Operations
Prior to joining Prism Hotels, Jim was the Vice President of Operations for Southern Hospitality. Based in Oklahoma City,
Jim worked for Southern Hospitality for over eleven years. During this tenure, he had as many as fifteen hotels that
were under his supervision, including Doubletree, Hampton Inn, Sheraton, Radisson, Holiday Inn, and Ramada hotels.
Before joining Southern Hospitality, he was employed by Red Lion Hotels. He had a number of Property &
Regional assignments in both Operations and Accounting during his ten years with Red Lion Hotels.
Jim graduated from Washington State University with his degree in Hotel & Restaurant Administration.
In 1989 he passed the CPA exam in the state of Washington. He has also held a number of hotel-related board
positions in Oklahoma City and Sacramento.
ROBERT BECHTINGER
Regional Vice President of Operations
Robert began his career in the hospitality industry over 25 years ago in Miami Beach where he managed oceanfront
high-rise resorts.
Before relocating to the Dallas area, he spent the last ten years as the Vice President of North Florida's
largest privately-held hotel management company that owns a portfolio of Hiltons, Marriotts, and Holiday Inns.
Previously, while attending graduate school in Denver, Colorado, Robert worked for Stonebridge Hospitality as Regional
Director of Sales & Marketing.
Robert earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL and his
MBA with honors from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.
Jan McCormick, CHA
Regional Vice President of Operations
Jan's career in hospitality began more than 35 years ago as a bar back for the Sheraton Waikiki in Honolulu, Hawaii.
It wasn't soon after that he caught the hospitality "bug" and decided to make hospitality his career.
At 26 he became a General Manager and since that time has managed eleven independent Hotels, Resorts and
Conference Center's for Kimpton Hotels, Benchmark Hospitality and Dolce International.
Jan has also held corporate VP positions at Key Property Management, Hotel Systems Int'l, Noble House Hotels and Resorts
and Gemstone Resorts International. In 2008 Jan was recognized as General Manager of the Year by the Utah Hotel and
Lodging Association for Zermatt Resort and Spa. He joined Prism in January 2010.
RHONDA DYE
Regional Vice President, Operations & Transitions
Rhonda brings more than 10 years of hospitality experience to the Prism team.
She joined Prism in 2003 and prior to her post as Regional Vice President of Operations she held several capacities
such as Regional Director of Operations, General Manager, Director of Operations, Task Force &
Transistion Manager. Before coming to Prism, Rhonda worked for Bristol Hotels &
Resorts for four years in a various capacities and spent three years with Regus Business Centres.
Her areas of specialty include property takeover and dispositions and CMBS hotel management.
Rhonda holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Bachelor of Science in Hotel &
Restaurant Management, both from the University of Missouri. Rhonda lives in Dallas with her husband and their
three dogs. She is an active volunteer for local animal shelters and a seasoned half-marathon runner.
ALLISON HANDY
Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing
Allison is a Regional Director of Sales, providing sales and marketing support and oversight for
Prism’s west coast portfolio of hotels. Before joining Prism in August 2007, Allison spent over nine
years working for Interstate Hotels & Resorts and MeriStar Hotels in various sales capacities, most recently as a
Director of Sales & Marketing in San Francisco, California. She has worked with such hotel brands as
Hilton, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, and Wyndham.
Allison is a University of Southern California graduate with a degree in
Business Administration and an emphasis in Entrepreneurial Studies. Allison is based out of
San Francisco, California. She enjoys travel, the outdoors, and USC football.
CATHY GILBERT
Regional Director of Sales and Marketing
Cathy provides sales and marketing support and oversight for Prism's transitioning hotels.
Cathy has an extensive background in both sales and operations, from both a property level and regional capacity.
Her brand experience encompasses IHG, Hilton, Marriott and Wyndham and she has spent time working in both full and
limited service environments.
She was appointed to the IHG advisory board and has also received the CNSA distinction from New Market International
for Sales System Support.
Cathy is a Tennessee Volunteer, residing in the Dallas Fort Worth area, and enjoys travel,
computers, reading and most all sports.
